My new question is: on a voter system is it normal for the RSSI to vary with audio even when full quieting?
So I key up, it's at 255, and as I talk, it varies below 255?
I've never noticed this, but it's not terribly surprising. Think about how how an audio SNR-based voting algorithm works: a carrier with no audio is a perfect (non-noisy) signal at 255, and full white noise is a 0. Makes me wonder if there's noise on your audio. Maybe a hum, or too much mic gain is causing clipping. There are various ways you could check this: listen on another node, enable the parrot feature, or enable recordings and play it back (checking the waveform in Audacity is also helpful). Tom KD7LXL
