For details on the Blacklist/Whitelist please visit https://wiki.allstarlink.org/wiki/Blacklist_or_whitelist if you do not have the /var/lib/asterisk/rpt_extnodes file or in you case the 'linked' /tmp/rpt_extnodes or /tmp/rpt_extnodes-temp files the you would not be able to call another node. check your system ( ps aux|grep rc.updatenodelist ) to ensure the updatenodelist service you may need to restart the process On Tue, Mar 19, 2019 at 8:43 AM Marty <martye@usham.org> wrote:
in my directory /var/lib/asterisk/rpt_extnodes
rpt_extnodes -> /tmp/rpt_extnodes appears as a link and I get tail: cannot open '/tmp/rpt_extnodes' for reading: No such file or directory
Also I'll ask 29103 to check his whitelist. Where would I look and check about accepting inbound connects?

Are you getting the nodes list? Take a look for /var/lib/asterisk/rpt_extnodes. At the bottom of the file there should be a current timestamp.
For example:
tail /var/lib/asterisk/rpt_extnodes ;Generated 3251 records in 0.063 seconds. ;Served in 0.015 seconds. ;Served from cache: Yes ;Generated at 2019-03-18 15:57:31 UTC by register-ord.allstarlink.org
