The App_rpt default is a duplex value of 2 (full duplex) even though it might not state that in rpt .conf. This seems to be the situation for new default files created by the ACID install process. If the config files are downloded from the Allstar server then I think it sets a duplex value in the RPT.conf based on what you set up the server to be on the website. So if you connect a simplex radio witht he acid default files, you will need to either add the line in the node stanza duplex = 0 in rot.conf,**/_and_/ you also must state the duplex setting to 0 in the usbradio.conf file as well. see below: In rpt.conf:

and in usbradio.conf:

rpt.conf is (should be) in the /etc/asterisk directory. If for some reason it is not there look for a sample rpt.conf in /usr/src/astsrc/asterisk/configs/
I am not sure what percentage of users configure as repeaters vs. simplex nodes but maybe it would be a good idea to default this value to 0 or 1 as so many including myself get burnt by this. Also there should be a sentence about this in the quick install instructions.

I am kind of new to this whole linux thing and may need a little extra assistance in getting to where I need to be. So far it has been fairly easy with the limited linux background that I have.
