Did you follow the readme and do: sudo apt-mark hold raspberrypi-kernel-headers raspberrypi-kernel ?

Yea, newest raspbian removed the support for /dev/dsp (OSS) in the stock kernel. Holding back the old kernel will prevent you from needing to recompile the "new" kernel to get OSS back in it.
