I've built a new Mini-PC for my re-worked W3RWN node. Thanks to those on list that let me know about their experiences with this Motherboard a week or so ago. thought I share a bit about what I've done, and perhaps others benefit. This is an entirely 12VDC powered motherboard, with a newer SSD technology called MSATA which results in the SSD being a module on the motherboard. This is very neat because there are no inverters, or additional power supplies needed to run this PC from the same 12 VDC power supply as the repeater. I was concerned that a Dual Core Atom might not be enough, but it seems to work just fine for my node using a URI to control a 70cm repeater. I installed ACID_CENTOS, and it installed clean with no futzing around. No asterisk reboot cycles, all clean. Running TOP shows Asterisk taking about 10% to 12% of the CPU, and minimal other load on the system. Set for 10% to 100% fan range in BIOS. (Got the fan from Amazon) 17mm x 17mm adhesive heat sink - Digikey ATS-52170G-C2-RO stuck this on the Intel PCH chip (Northbridge) which was very hot to the touch.
