Tim, Not following you on that. I am not using usbradio. It is simpleusb. In /etc/init.d is asterisk startup script. There is no mention in that script about loading anything but asterisk. Both usbradio and simpleusb are modules to asterisk nothing is loaded beyond that is there? My questions is why does that howto say to touch simpleusb in /etc/init.d and what is that suppose to do? It is my understanding that the /etc/asterisk config files for usbradio and simpleusb when present determine which module to use. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio Subject: Re: [App_rpt-users] Simpleusb question From: tim.sawyer@mac.com Date: Sat, 22 Feb 2014 11:11:55 -0800 CC: app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org To: doug@crompton.com That tells the system to load the usbradio module.I think it’s /etc/init.d/rc.asterisk that looks for it, but check that on a working system. --Tim:wq On Feb 22, 2014, at 10:58 AM, Doug Crompton <doug@crompton.com> wrote: In the note - http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/193 In configuration of simpleusb the following line is mentioned - touch /etc/init.d/simpleusb I presume this is just to put a zero length file marker at this location? Is this needed? What references this? Does simple USB need to be a service in any derivative of app_rpt - zaptel/dahdi ? 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio _______________________________________________ App_rpt-users mailing list App_rpt-users@ohnosec.org http://ohnosec.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/app_rpt-users To unsubscribe from this list please visit http://ohnosec.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/app_rpt-users and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
