I had tried it ~ a year ago along with a friend of mine and we could never get it to work right. Volume sent from the PC was always too low - no matter what. I posted something on the asterisk reflector but was directed over to Xeletec. I posted a request on the Xeletec web site and it got zero replies over the last 30 weeks.
Hopefully the new version fixes the problem !

OK well I made the changes to IAX.conf and the portal server setting and works fine here. One thing I found though doing the bind thing is IAX_RPT wont connect to that node now. Not sure if its something to do with IAXRPT or do I have to change something else to get that working again? Perhaps Steve W9SH can comment on that.
I am using a linksys WRT54GL router with DDWRT on it. Do you know it it will do PAT?? Would be nice to know. Thanks,

Port Address Translation allows you to have different ports on the same node on the WAN side and all the SAME port on the LAN side - but with different node numbers.
I suppose, had I known better at the time, I would have gone for the "free" solution. But the new router lets me run my local system at 1Gb, which is nice, as I have 3 Linux boxes (so far) and 3-5 PCs on the network. It's kind of addictive .....

You need to make a 'new' server for the new computer and you can specify whatever port you want there at the portal config. Nothing needs to be done by the system admins any more GL Ken
