Passing tones is not hard to do but I think you mean dtmf tones and good luck as they will not pass. If from one app_rpt node to other app_rpt node for control, you only need to connect in command mode to control it.
use dtmf: *4 (#nodenum#) to connect to node in command mode, issue commands, and use # to exit command mode when you are done.
No need to pass dtmf audio wise from node to node. Commands will travel in iax stream when in command mode.

I hate to bug everyone again on the forums here about this but I need to also know how to pass through tones from a particular node to the repeater node as well... Also cor=no did not work for the repeater side still kinda baffled as to why not.. Where does the cor=no go is it the Rpt.conf or is it the usbradio.conf file.. Thanks so much for everyone’s help! Oh the reason for wanting to pass DTMF through the RX node is to be able to use my auto patch that i have set up on the 2 meter side.. Really bites not having the duplexers tuned..

It's really not about what radios you have but the signal logic of the COR line.
If the logic for your controller is low=true meaning a 0v or low voltage level means it is actively receiving,
The when you disconnect it,
It will be true and bring up the repeater as if it was rxing a signal when you disconnect it because it is not getting a high level signal to say it is inactive.
So... when you disconnect it, change the logic of the signal for cor input so it does not make the controller think the rx is active after you disconnect it.
Example set the controller for high=true or a voltage level is a signal for active rx when/after disconnecting the rx.
perhaps someone else can explain it better than I.

All of my current radios are CM200s VHF and UHF on both repeater systems node radios are a combination of CM200s and I do have one Maxtrac VHF floating around here at the house.. Yes when i disconnect the RX side or turn off the RX radio it seems to hang open the transmitter with a silent hang.. Not sure about the whole cor thing didnt really change any settings on the radios or the URI at least related to cor.. If you have any ideas feel free to let me know will be testing a few things maybe it was because it was in Duplex=2 mode at the tx site when i did this test not sure when i changed the that line in the Rpt.conf to Duplex=1

Corey, Noticed one problem if i unhook the RX side at the repeater for some reason it hangs the transmitter open not sure exactly what i am missing here but if you think of some thing let me know love the *2 for connect think thats a great idea

You can link two nodes privately if you know the IP address and port of each node. You just enter the info for the OTHER node in the nodes section of rpt.conf.
