While I can't comment on that board, I might suggest, if you are just looking for a more simple method to do a battery power that can be recharged while live... Look on ebay for a few items... 18650 battery holder (3 or 4 cell) https://www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-Black-Storage-Box-Holder-Case-For-1-2-4-x-18650... This little critter which will both charge the cells and bosst the output from 3.7v to 5v https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-3-7V-Lithium-Li-ion-Battery-Charger-Module-4-2V... There are many ways of doing the same thing. This method of course does not integrate with software to warn you about battery condition or do automated shutdown but do you really need it ??? anyway, food for thought, ...mike/kb8jnm On 8/4/2018 8:03 AM, Ramesh Dhami wrote:
Hi All:
This topic comes up from time-to-time!
Does anyone have experience with the following UPS HAT:
http://www.pimodulescart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=50
The ordering options seems to be a little confusing!
Additionally, what I am looking for is:
1. Does this fully restore power once the battery has been discharged and the AC power is restored? - i.e., no buttons to press (my application is in an unattended / remote location)
2. Is this the s/w that I need to install: https://github.com/modmypi/PiModules/wiki/UPS-PIco-Installation -> Any incompatibility / will it break a DIAL install?
Thanks,
Ramesh.
