changing funcchar in rpt.conf messed up echolink
I thought I would change the command prefix of my private simplex node to be D rather than *. Using the funcchar parm in rpt.conf seemed to work in general. But for some reason echolink would no longer complete outbound connections. I'm betting that there is a separate parameter for the echolink funcchar value. However I wasn't able to find it documented. Any ideas?
Sometimes playing around can get you in trouble. I would not advise doing that, especially A-D as those characters are not on all devices including iaxrpt. The *3, *1 and a couple of others are considered mandatory functions. That is they are suppose to stay that way for all users. There is no law about that but it is highly recommended. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio From: w7ldn@w7ldn.com Date: Sun, 18 Jan 2015 22:07:21 +0000 To: App_rpt-users@ohnosec.org Subject: [App_rpt-users] changing funcchar in rpt.conf messed up echolink I thought I would change the command prefix of my private simplex node to be D rather than *. Thanks Doug. I will leave them set to defaults then. On Sun Jan 18 2015 at 6:13:08 PM Doug Crompton <doug@crompton.com> wrote:
