New installation trouble...
I'm bringing up a new server using the ACID distro. I don't have any radio or URI hardware attached. I haven't done any allstar server/node/password configuration... As soon as the server reboots after the installation is complete, asterisk keeps restarting. Each time Asterisk fires up, it bombs out with error 1 and tries to restart. The Asterisk logs complain that Zaptel is configured incorrectly. /etc/zapata.conf only has this section in it: [channels] signalling=em_txrx group=9 channel=psuedo Any ideas? = = = = = Also, the password setting function in the installation script doesn't seem to work. I had to bust in with grub in single user mode and clear the root password to get into the system at all.
Don, I "think" you need to have a URI or some variant connected but I see the same error about twice a week on one of my two boxes. A restart usually takes care of it. I never saw this on the initial installation. If you have no URI, you need to set: rxchannel = Zap/pseudo in rpt.conf Ken

When I set the rxchannel as shown below, I get the asterisk restarting loop for a couple of minutes, then it comes up and stays up. There must be something zaptel related that has to time out before it decides it's OK. = = = Also, about the password changing problem... I had to manually install the cracklib-dicts package; it didn't get installed with the ACID distribution. Had to run: yum install cracklib-dicts.i386 On Apr 9, 2012, at 4:29 AM, Ken wrote:
