[App_rpt] how much processor and memory are needed
What hardware specs would be recomended for an app-rpt box containing the following: 1 - quad pci radio card 1 - tdm-400 fully populated 1 - voip autopatch 1 - sip telephone attached 3 - conferences (yes this eats processor) links to other allstar nodes Eric
Eric, There's not enough information in your list to know for sure. It would depend on codecs used, processor cache, RAM, and processor type. I'd just try a machine and if it runs out of gas, upgrade it. I would not waste my time with anything under 1Ghz. Eric Fort wrote:

Dual processors aren't going to help much unless the thread model is native (NTPL). Each channel uses a thread, and if the threads are not managed at the linux kernel level, two processors would be a waste. Eric Fort wrote:
