Hello Everyone, I was looking through my echolink.conf and I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on what the recfile= does? Is it like a welcome message? I have a few custom recordings and would like to do a welcome message when people connect via echolink. Thanks, Monty
I have been enjoying working on my node now that I have found a couple of the right sound fobs. This morning I created a couple of sound files in the right format and put them where they were suppose to go and all is working well. I was in monitor mode listening to the Winsystem earlier today and my voiceid went off. I heard someone from the winsystem say that they heard my voice id and it came across the whole system. As far as configuring the node for the id all I did was was comment out the cw line using a ; and retyped the line as to where my sound file went. Is there something I am missing? I thought using the *2 command put the link in monitor only. That is what it stated. Why would they be hearing my voice id's coming across their asterisk repeaters? I think this happened this morning as well when I was connected to another all star node... Any ideas or suggestions? Would a *80 (force id) sent it out all channels? Maybe that is all it is.... I am loving the app_rpt node. I am having a blast with it and it is quite powerful, but I have one last thing I just can't figure out. The audio coming from allison and other connect messages, even playing the time with the male voice crackles. It doesn't matter if I lower the audio in the configs or not. I even wired up a powered speaker and have the same result. The audio sounds like it is 5KHZ off. Changes the settings in radio tune only lowers the levels, it doesn't remove the crackles, it just lowers the volume of the crackles. Any ideas on where I should be looking to rememdy this? You should be using one of the USB options that limits the audio output level (txprelim=yes or txlimonly=yes) And If you are running composite audio, you need to make sure that the txtone and txvoice settings together do not total more than 1000. Otherwise you will overdrive the sound device and make nasty noises. All fixed! Thank you... I guess I was over driving the fob. I had the voice audio at 950 to get it where I needed it. I had the tx pl to high. Now it is to low. Guess I will be building up an op amp so I can get things where it should be. Thanks for the fast response! I dont think it does anything. It was probably something that scott put in it originially with something in mind and never did anything with it.
