Currently have one node on the air. I'm working on a second node on the same server. I know I need to have the second node specified for another port. I found this link, but I'm not exactly clear on it. http://www.asteriskdocs.org/en/2nd_Edition/asterisk-book-html-chunk/asterisk... Could anyone give me a nudge in the right direction. Thank you N1XBM Apparare Scientor Paratus Communicare Allstar Node # 27086, 41540, 41812
Normally, all nodes on one server use the same port. Now if you have a second server, THEN you would need a different port number. N5ZUA On 7/15/2015 8:23 PM, Robert Newberry wrote:

the only time you need a second port is if you have a second physical server. you can run multiple nodes on the same server under one instance of asterisk, up to the number of usb interfaces that your machine is capable of supporting. -- Bryan Sent from my iPhone 5...No electrons were harmed in the sending of this message.

OK seems like I am all set then. To reiterated I am running two nodes on one server. Makes sense that everything comimg up on google referenced two servers on the same LAN. I just wanted to be double sure. Thsnk you N1XBM Apparare Scientor Paratus Communicare Allstar Node # 27086, 41540, 41812
Four RF nodes, an Echolink node and three hubs on one ACID server here. Plus a couple of BeagleBone servers on the same LAN. tnx Mike / W5JR Alpharetta GA

Hi all, we are operating a bunch of Allstar/app_rpt nodes here in South Tyrol, and they are all working perfectly! A couple of weeks ago we decided to switch one of our old 2M echolink nodes to app_rpt with chan_echolink. So far so good, seems to work - but - here comes the problem: in certain cases (I think it is when users connect via Echolink App over a relay connection) in the asterisk cli you can see, that there are 30 and more echolink connections being accepted by the system. And in that case, the telemetry output starts for all these connections - so the node keeps sending out telemetry "node x connected to node y" for about 5 minutes or even longer. Is there anyone having the same problem? I have no idea how to resolve this issue Best regards Simon, IN3FQQ
Echolink telemetry may be managed with these settings: http://docs.allstarlink.org/drupal/node/126 Also see: http://docs.allstarlink.org/drupal/node/125 Hope that helps. On Thu, Jul 16, 2015 at 4:59 AM, Simon Kofler <simko1994@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks for the replies! Currently we have telemdefault set to 0, because otherwise the repeater causes problems with these 5 minutes long telemetry transmissions.. The eannmode is set to 2 (announce only the call of the EL station) and the echolinkdefault to 0 (echolink stations should not hear telemetry). Simply disabling telemetry output does not resolve the problem for me, because we would like to keep telemetry output enabled, in order to get some feedback when you type DTMF numbers to connect to an Echolink station (so that the users could know, if the station actually was connected or not). I also tried to enable the "timed telemetry output" by setting telemdefault=2, but it does not help against this issue with multiple connect attempts. So the actual problem is not how to disable telemetry output completely, but how to get rid of these repeated telemetry transmissions caused by multiple connect attempts by one single Echolink station Thanks and 73s Simon, IN3FQQ Am 16.07.2015 um 16:09 schrieb Doug Crompton:

First of all you have to remember that Echolink is not Allstar! That is it has its problems. I run it here without any significant problems so far but it certainly could happen. If it is one station that is repeatedly trying to connect unsuccessfully and causing the problem you can deny them (or others) in the config file. Another thing to try and also a good way to connect echolink is to have it on its own node within Allstar. That node would be defined as a pseudo node in the rxchannel line in rpt.conf. In this way you can define things about that node that do not effect your radio nodes and also you have the ability to connect or disconnect the node and in effect connect or disconnect echolink from the rest of your nodes. Since the telemetry options are defined on a node by node basis this might work for you. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio Date: Fri, 17 Jul 2015 10:03:43 +0200 From: simko1994@gmail.com To: app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org Subject: Re: [App_rpt-users] Endless telemetry output with chan_echolink Thanks for the replies!
