I'd like to make some scripts of mine a little smarter. Is there any way to determine if the node has been active within the last ID timer window of time. E.g. instead of firing a *speak the time at the top of the hour* script, I'd only like to happen if the node is inside the countdown timer for a final ID. This is how most of the configurable external controllers work. Then once the final ID fires, the repeater is quite until activity again, then resumes its scripts, etc until no activity after its final ID time countdown. Just curious if there are any provisions for similar either internal or external (environment variable, polled value from asterisk -rx, etc) Alan
Will the simple voter work on the acid distro? I've found a tutorial for the simple voter on XIPAR. I'd like to "play" with a simple voting system between 3 acid nodes if possible. Thanks and 73 de K0JSC
Quote from the xipar docs: This feature requires that the USB radio devices on the remote voting receivers are connected directly to the receiver's discriminator/quadrature detector output. It is only present in XIPAR packages installed or updated (using the 'xapl xipar-update' command line utility) as of May 20, 2011 at 2030 EDT. -- Tim :wq On Jul 9, 2012, at 6:46 AM, Jeffrey S. Thanks Tim, That was just a bit misleading the way it was written. Does this mean that if I use RTCM's for a voted system I'd have to be running the XIPAR distro as my "master" server....I guess? Sorry, I thought you wanted to do the non RTCM voter. If so you have to run XIPAR. If you do want to use RTCMs then ACID or Limey will work. I do not know if RTCMs will work with XIPAR. -- Tim :wq On Jul 9, 2012, at 7:13 AM, Jeffrey S. Carrier wrote:

This only works with the ZIPAR distro. I have been running it before it was released and it serves our purpose quite well! We use private node numbers here and at the time I use 2 receivers but 2 more are planned. There is a repeater in the Carlisle/Harrisburg , PA area that uses 3 receivers and is also a private node and it works quite well. The sites are link with ubiquiti wireless gear and he has less than 5 ms pings and once in a while you can tell it is voting. My system uses different provides and my average ping is 40-60 milli seconds depending on the time of day and when I vote you may hear a syllable get delayed or dropped but it works very very well!
