Looks like I can't post no more on a ARM mailing list.
Must be because I asked about source a bit too much. Am I the only one that was put under " control " like that? Pierre VE2PF

Yep. I am also moderated because (I suppose this is the reason anyway) I dared to bring up the unavailability of source. Oh well. -- Buddy Brannan, KB5ELV - Erie, PA Mobile (preferred): (814) 431-0962 Phone: (814) 860-3194 Email: buddy@brannan.name

Buddy, I gave up on arm-allstar for two reasons, one being the lack of source. There are two things I modify in app_rpt.c always and with Jims distro and SVN availability it has been no issue, and carried forth here. The other reason was their use of that awful Linux distro- Arch. I've used it in a desktop and it was ok, provided you don't need to change anything in the OS. And as with my need to modify app_rpt.c I have the need to change things in the OS as well. Arch is the goofiest layout of Linux and I don't have the desire to learn another one. Debian was a big enough change for me, who has lived in the Slackware world since 1993. I can figure networking and how to change things in Debian (I also mostly live in a command line world) app_rpt-users is the place to be. The code works the source is there. But I'm still running Limey 1.1.5 on 2360. Hey, it works fine. GeorgeC W2DB node 2360 On 7/8/2017 9:57 PM, Buddy Brannan wrote:

Do you have proof of this? Can show a pcap or a library that does this? I'd sure love to look at it in IDA. If you have proof this needs to shouted from the rooftops and people need to know about the backdoors. I'd be hesitant to make such a statement publicly unless you have proof. While Doug's certainly a douche for his failure to honor the GPL, backdooring systems is much worse, and possibly criminal. Without proof this could be interpreted as a libelous statement. 73's -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice http://bryanfields.net
Let's chill out. Though here I don't limit free speech unlike other lists, I don't want this to go off the rails. Step back, take a breath and think before you post. I will moderate (for a short cooling off period) if this gets out of hand. Steve N4IRS
George, If your changes are of a general nature and can help others, you might want to consider a pull request. YEA open source! Mike On Sun, Jul 9, 2017 at 3:20 AM, George Csahanin <george@dyb.com> wrote:

Hello Gentlemen, I can say that Doug has been a great help, Steve has been a great help. There are clearly two Allstar Camps now. I have my Pi running Dial, I use HSMM-PI and the two systems compliment each other nicely. Steve was very good at helping me get WiFi working the way I need it too. FYI, I did install Allstar Dial in my HP Laptop, it is a Duo Core 2200 mhz unit with 3gb RAM and an SSD. I got it running without effort. I also installed Gnome Desktop and I also installed HSMM-PI on the laptop. I now have a multi-channel Dispatch Console on a laptop running 2 nodes, a Selected Node and an Un-Selected Node. I have a series of remote bases spread around. This allows me to connect to any one of many to talk too on the Selected Node and all of many on the Un-Selected Node to monitor the others. I did try to do this with the Doug build but ARCH is structured just too different and the changes were many. Bottom line is this. I won't complain about what Doug is doing. I have a choice and I choose to stay a little closer to the Dixon based system. I think both are good for those who choose one over the other. The work that goes into building a distro is an art form. It takes great commitment and dedication to make it play. On Jul 8, 2017 7:46 PM, "Pierre Martel" <petem001@gmail.com> wrote:
