I've had trouble with this as well, I think UDEV applies here, but may or may not conflict with what app_rpt does to take care of the assignments by default. I could do the same thing with some changes. Possible to display on an Android tablet. I can figure out how to write an Android client app.

Changing the platform is not an option in this case, I have a project in process that requires a laptop running DIAL with GUI installed. My system is working great with the exception of the USB assignments
