I've run many Asterisk/Allstar/IP telephony solutions as VM slices using 
Xen. I "roll my own" under Gentoo. Wouldn't do it any other way. But 
again, I'm not using any audio hardware - these are hubs, conference 
bridges, pbxs, etc.
