I have been trying to follow this thread for a bit now.

The documentation is good. But the question still remains...

1.      Can you use ACID or XIPAR (assuming current builds) to do voting without using an RTCM?

You can using Xiapr.  That is what I am currently using.

2. IF you can, What are the settings required to do this?
      A. on the RX only site.
      B. on the TX Site.

3. Can the TX site be used as a RX site as well? 1 URI or modded cm108 fob or is 2 required ?

            Only 1 is needed.  Here is the rpt.conf file settings for the repeater side

votertype=1                ; 0=default, no voting, 1=voter repeater, 2=voter receiver
votermode=2                ; 0=default, no voting, 1=voter one-shot, 2=voter continuous
votermargin=50             ; 10=default sets signal margin to vote a new winner

You also need to define it as a node like this on the server.
5001 = radio at 192.168.1.189:4561/5001,NONE,VOTE

Here is the repeater and client side urd.conf file.
sendvoter=1        ; 0=default, no voter rssi, 1=enable voter rssi

4. Is GPS absolutely necessary, can we use network timing in place of GPS?

            No gps is required using XIPAR.  When it voter you might here a missed or gained syllable depending on which way it votes.  It is dependent on internet latency.  Using it on something with a ping less than 25 ms it is very hard to detect.  I have one that on a different netowork with a 50 -70 ms delay and you can hear it switch but mose users won't even notice.

Has anyone done this set up yet?

Using it on Zipar since it was implemented.

RTCMs are our of  our price range right now.

That was my issue.

I think you are missing what i am getting at.  He will NOT be using rtcm at
all.  That is why I ask about setting up a computer running acid as the
receive site.  I need to know what to configure on the pc since we aren't
using an rtcm.  I doubt the pc will know what the server ants without
configuring something on it.
