He did say multicast, although I'm unsure if that's what he really meant.

To the OP, if so, because in multicasting each transmitter is essentially
standalone there is no need for identical hardware or synced exciters. If
voting the receivers they should be the "same" hardware, but that can be
more lenient.

Now if you actually meant simulcast, what Ed said.
