[App_rpt-users] signal level good enough for a URI-X?

Short answer is yes.

RD line is discriminator so you would need to set the USBradio file to
Flat audio. The rolloff of this output may not be enough for the DSP
decoding for DSP Carrier squelch. It needs to see more raw audio above
3khz.
So you may need to use the hardware COR lines from the repeater.

If the audio level is too low, at this input then you can set RX boost =
yes in the USBradio file and do a re-cal to see if you get it to work
properly. You should not need to use a hardware amp in the URI.

As for the Pins 10 and 11, They are not inputs but are out puts from the
Kenwwod. Pin 10 is discriminator and pin 11 is RX audio and is
de-emphasized. There may be more audio from Pin 11 and if you use this
pin then set audio to Speaker in USBRadio.

Pins 8 and 9 are TX audio inputs to the kenwood.

Pin 8 is the TD input. This input is a "direct mod" input and is good
from dc to 3K. it is mainly used for an External Pl tone or 1200 baud
data input. NOTE: this input will only allow up to 2.5 Khz deviation no
matter how hard you drive it. Ths is fixed in the Kenwood.

Pin 9 is the TA input and can take analog audio from 300 hz to 3k but
has pre-emphasis.

So if you are connecting a URI to teh Kenwood, see the pinouts below..

TKR 850 -------- URI

8 (TD) --------- 23 (R_out)
9 (TA) --------- 22 (L_out)
10 (RD)-------- 21 (Mic in)
16 (EPTT)-------1 (PTT)
17 (SC) --------- 8 (Cor in)
12 (RXG) ------19 (Gnd)
19 (TXG) ------ 20 (Gnd)

You may need to add the extra audio grounds RXG and TXG.
