Route to like protocols to start with. Maybe build a super smart switch that cross connects dissimilar modes at a later date. But the Yaesu protocol for linking uses Wires II. I don't want to use Wires at all. Guess I want to much!! lol!! Ron On Nov 5, 2015 12:22 PM, "Steve Zingman" <szingman@msgstor.com> wrote:
Ron, Are you asking for digital routing? Example DMR to Fusion? Or Digital to Analog and Analog to Digital? Example DMR to remote analog node, and back?

Just for a recap, what is the status on the following digital modes USABLE NOW in Allstar?
P25 phase 1 P25 phase 2 Dstar DMR Fusion
I have all of these modes except for Dstar.
I have a PiDV (DV3000) and a DV4mini on the way.
I have a UHF MTR3000 MOTOTRBO Repeater and 2 Yaesu Fusion Repeaters.
I want to be able to interface these digitally to Allstar.
Demoded audio into a URI is not what I want to do.
Any thoughts?

I agree the NDA is a way to go. More fun sniffing. But at least it's working for now. We have pretty good access to IPSC. Now to add the Hytera and a few more pieces.

If you want a system that has full access to the functionality of Motorola's IPSC and the Hytera equivalent, the only way to go that will allow software to be made in a reasonable timeframe is to sign the NDA to get access to the real thing, which is what the guys in Germany have done. I actually know one of the guys, as he has worked with Jonathan G4KLX in the past on open source stuff.

As it turns out there is some closed source (yuck)
Wtf is the common thing in ham radio to have closed source stuff? There is no money to be made here, and everyone wants to be all secret squirrel about their stuff while benefiting from the work of other. It makes me want to fire up IDA, pick it apart and publish it.
I've been going through this with the Quantar Site Connect guy right now.
Admittedly I'm a hardware guy (my code is awful), but I still document and release what I do under the GPL.
Closed source is the antithesis of ham radio.
