Although we havent actually tested on the 817 and 857, according to documentation, it should work fine. All 3 of those radios are the same internal design, and most of the difference between them is physical and whats at the "business" end of the transmitter section. Frankly, I have never come across anyone, that, given the choice between the 3 radios, didnt pick the 897, given the minimal price difference between each of them.
Since the software is still in "development" we still have to get access to a D708 and a D700 (geeze, theyre the same radio +/- the TNC, but I gotta test both to be completely thorough) to do final testing. I have been developing it on a G707, and that works great.
Sure, if you already have a D700, then this would be a great use of it.

It happens I have a TM-D700 sitting here that is not being used. I will plan on getting a Quad PCI card and using this radio when the next version is released.
To clarify, are you saying any of the FT-897/857/817 radios will work with the current version?

Yes, the RBI-1 is a thing of the past, sorry.
I would certainly imagine that the command structure of the FT-897/857/817 has got to be similar to some of their "bigger" radios.
Also, in the new release that is about to be released, we support the Kenwood TM-G707 series (708, 700 etc) radios, and theoretically the D7 HT 144/440 radios using the Quad PCI card.

Does anyone know where I can get a Doug Hall RBI-1 interface? They are no longer in production.
Also is the FT897 the only radio supported with a Quad PCI board, or are there other radios with the same command structure?
