Be sure to remove the semicolon at the start of the line for any settings you are editing. The semicolon is known as a comment mark and anything on the line after it is ignored so changing the value will have no effect. First it will announce timeout in 180 seconds. Disconnecting and reconnecting is the only way to stop the countdown.
