ALSARadio and RPiRadio could be built and added (as a test) SimpleUSB and USBRadio could be built and replace the existing channel drivers. That was going to be my next step. I don't know what the dev team is planning. Steve N4IRS On 7/19/2018 10:22 AM, Mike wrote:
I'm going to be busy for the next week (i think) but could you send me a 'peek' at those raw channel driver files. I just want to see what's going on in a 'study' of it.
But it all sounds good and I think we are missing the ball by not utilizing the gpio.
Perhaps just needs a 'kick-start'

these are channel drivers that enable the gpio on the raspberry pi. They need to be complied. I have a complier that will just compile the module. Maybe someone here can provide it to the OP. Would be great if these channel drivers can be included in regular builds of ASL.

Angelo, welcome aboard !
The answer to your question for the net is...
Outside of buying a pre-altered sound fob,
There appears to be some provision out there or in the making to use GPIO pins on the Pi for PTT and COR for radio/repeater
so I sent this reply to the list in the hopes someone can add something to that or point to some documentation.
