I think I have it solved. I was missing duplex=1 in rpt.conf and I had ctcssfrom=no in my usbradio.conf. My goal is to have this radio (a GM300 VHF) set up as remote base. I think it is working now, although this new ham is having a hard time understanding how ctcss is works with the URI when I am or could be changing to different repeaters on the radio. May I assume this is a simplex node? if so, do you have "duplex=" set correctly in rpt.conf (=1) and simpleusb.conf or usbradio.conf (=0), whichever you are using?

When the cable/radio is hooked up, it constantly transmits (radio gets hot!). So, I disconnected the radio and rebooted the node (several times)... same thing. It keeps sending the courtesy tone.
Anyone seen this or have a pointer for me?
