You don’t even have to have a radio. I have a ZAP/Dummy node on my home PBX that I dial into to monitor our repeaters. Probably don’t need a trunk if your SIP phone is on the same LAN with your home PBX/node. You can just *3 to any node you want to go to. -- Tim :wq

Got a few uv-3r that are doing nothing and at 500 mw on the tx side it wont be that bad for my other use of the vhf or uhf band, wich ever I choose to use..
Now still need to do a trunk or not?
cause I could hook up my sip phone to my simplex node that would also be linked to my repeater..
