Hello dear friends! I'm using a PCI Quad Radio card with a Motorola EM400 radio pluged in. I can use a SIP phone to connect to the node (1999) and issue the PTT command (*98) and deactivate it (#). I want to be able to listen to this channel when I dial to the node but when I ask for the Link status (*7), all I receive on the phone and on the remote radio is "node 1999 repeat_only". I tried the duplex=2 option but it didnt work either. Thanks in avance. I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish overall. You obviously have the system connected to a standard simplex tranceiver. Dont you want to configure it as a remote base? The configuration you have is for repeaters (generally full-duplex). If you really are setting up a simplex repeater node (kind of contradiction in terms, huh?), you definitely want duplex =0 or 1. 2 is for full duplex RF hardware only. As far as being able to hear what the receiver hears on a phone connection, if you are using the 'P' option on the extension in extensions.conf, and the *98/# PTT works, then you definitely should be able to hear what the receiver is hearing from the phone connection.

What I need is: 1) I pickup a SIP Phone, dial the node (In my case 305) 2) I hear the radio channel 3) If i want to speak on the radio, I dial *98 (so i "press" PTT) 3.1) I press # to stop talking I can execute steps 1, 3 and 3.1. I really need to listen what the radio connected on the Quad PCI is receiving. The problem you are experiencing has nothing to do with link status, or whether the repeater is linked or not. It is most likely a hardware interface or zaptel configuration issue. To hear receive audio, you must make sure you have COR hooked up to the quad radio card. The way to test this is to use another radio to simulate a transmission to the radio connected to the Quad PCI radio card, The green light on the back of tha card should light when a signal is received and go out when the signal goes away. If this is not happening, then this is why you aren't hearing any receive audio. If you are not getting a green light on the card when a signal is received, try the following: 1. With a voltmeter or scope Make sure the COR swings from 0V to greater than 5V or 5V to 0V when a signal is received. 2. Make sure that the ctcss statement(s) are commented out in zaptel.conf like this: #ctcss=1109,2,1109 and that exttone is set to n: exttone=n and that invertcor=y or invertcor=n is set so that the green light comes on when a signal is received and goes out when the signal goes away. Hi.. I was a bit busy last few days, so I couldn't make the tests you told me to do... Using the radio configuration software, i can receive in one pin the signal i can hook to COR (in one pin it swings from 0V to 3.3V in the other it goes from 0V to 13V) 1) Can I use the 3.3V pin and the corthresh=3125 option on zaptel.conf 2) If not, can I use 13V without the risk to fry the quad radio? But what I think strange is that even if i put 5V (from the PSU) directly on the COR pin, the light doesn't light either. Does this have something with zaptel.conf, asterisk or what? Yes, the COR input has a 1 meg resistor and a zener diode on the input. It will take 13V with no problem. Wow.. your solution is so incredible that I'm amazed... I'd like to hear from you what the possibilities are. Maybe there is a better way to make my network.... I'm my scenario the guy with the portable radio press the PTT and this info gets to a management console so that the operator knows that ID 1234 in node 1999 has just pushed the PTT. Something like this... RANDOM GUY -> RADIO->QUADPCI ---------------------- REMOTE ASTERISK -> management console Any way, if i can get this ID associated with the respective channel in the quadradio, I can relay it to the console... The PTT-ID info gets encoded by the radio using MDC-1200 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDC-1200). Does app_rpt have something like this so you can point me the direction to start making the modifications to suit my applications?
Sorry to bother you (again), but this is a very huge project and the time is very short. I need this ID stuff to deliver the first prototype the field

app_rpt.c would have to be modified to accept the DTMF sequences. There is no support in app_rpt.c to do this.

I'm my scenario the guy with the portable radio press the PTT and this info gets to a management console so that the operator knows that ID 1234 in node 1999 has just pushed the PTT.
Something like this...
RANDOM GUY -> RADIO->QUADPCI ---------------------- REMOTE ASTERISK -> management console
Any way, if i can get this ID associated with the respective channel in the quadradio, I can relay it to the console...
The console does not exist yet.
Other thing I could you is ID spoof, so the quadradio passes the ID it receives via IAX or SIP.

The PTT-ID info gets encoded by the radio using MDC-1200 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDC-1200). Does app_rpt have something

no, actually i dont use any of those kind of services. In fact, I hate email. I am definitely a telephone person. Also I am not sure if I even have a way of testing this stuff here because Im not sure if I have a radio that is MDC-1200 equiped here at the moment. I'm my scenario the guy with the portable radio press the PTT and this info gets to a management console so that the operator knows that ID 1234 in node 1999 has just pushed the PTT.
Something like this...
RANDOM GUY -> RADIO->QUADPCI ---------------------- REMOTE ASTERISK -> management console
Any way, if i can get this ID associated with the respective channel in the quadradio, I can relay it to the console...
The console does not exist yet.
Other thing I could you is ID spoof, so the quadradio passes the ID it receives via IAX or SIP.

DTMF commands are configured in rpt.conf. You must have set all of the audio levels correctly for DTMF to decode reliably. There's a document on app-rpt.qrvc.com which shows the procedure.
