Allstar on Ubuntu 12.04
I remember reading a post about someone getting Allstar to run on Ubuntu 12.04. I am having issues compiling zaptel. Linux kernel v3 does not have <linux/autoconf.h> looks like something changed in the headers between v2 and v3 kernel... Any clues or ideas? Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android
Others will correct me if necessary but I believe the trick is to patch and switch to DAHDI. I’ll forward you a note with the patch instructions. Then there may be some issues with USB audio support. -- Tim :wq On Jul 10, 2014, at 8:18 AM, ronald simpson <n6gkj1@gmail.com> wrote:

Ubuntu dropped oss sound support several years ago. As an experiment I recompile the kernel with it turned back on and it worked but in general Ubuntu is not a good choice for the current Acid code because of this. Acid usb audio will not work without oss support. Debian would be a better choice and Allstar works well there. In fact I have a Debian system here running the current Acid release. You do need to use Dahdi with patches. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio Date: Thu, 10 Jul 2014 08:18:30 -0700 From: n6gkj1@gmail.com To: app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org Subject: [App_rpt-users] Allstar on Ubuntu 12.04 I remember reading a post about someone getting Allstar to run on Ubuntu 12.04. Here is a link explaining the removal of OSS from Ubuntu. This happened in version 10.10. http://administratosphere.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/oss-audio-support-removed... 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio Date: Thu, 10 Jul 2014 08:18:30 -0700 From: n6gkj1@gmail.com To: app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org Subject: [App_rpt-users] Allstar on Ubuntu 12.04 I remember reading a post about someone getting Allstar to run on Ubuntu 12.04.
