decreasing volume of telemetry voice
I saw one method of decreasing the volume of the telemetry voice somewhere, but it was bulky, required a script to run, and it was not that clear to me what it was doing or whether it was reversible. My question is whether someone has come up with an easier and reversible way to do this? I know that one can just eliminate it altogether, but I do find it interesting to listen to who is connecting etc. I just need her voice to be about 1/2 of its amplitude! steve W3RX 28325 (A) 8676 (I)
I'm a bit confused. Am I correct in saying the etxgain, and erxgain entries refer audio to/from the radio. Or are they setting gain from the standpoint of the network? For example, if I want to drop the level of what's coming from Echolink connections to the transmitter, I'd reduce etxgain? Doesn't seem to me that it matters. Either way, it's less audio to/from the radio. My guess would be network, vs. software constantly readjusting the sound card levels for Echolink audio. Personally, I've found that the default settings seem to make the Echolink audio at the same level as the audio from an Allstar node.... 73, Jim KH2D
