Could it be possible to have 2 pl tones on a repeater? Here is what I was thinking, if somone wanted to talk on the link, they could use PL tone A. Then, If someone wanted to use the repeater locally and not transmit over the link, they can use PL tone B. I understand you can put the system in monitor mode, but this would be a nice option with out having to reconfigure the repeater. I could see this useful if Skywarn was activated and they don't want to tie up the link but still be able to talk to them if needed. Just my random thought of the day. boB - W5EVH
I'd be interested in this. I would want two decode tones. This repeater used to be on the air in another state and some people have radios that changing the PL tones would be difficult for them. I want to leave the old tone and add a second tone to bring the PL into the current scheme in this state. Repeater encode would only need to be one tone. I don't believe he means simultaneously, just act differently based off which tone is being received. A form of dynamic linking. I'd have to look again, but isn't there currently the capability to specify two or more tones to open on now? I think I remember seeing that in the documentation. This could be an extension of that. In usbradio.conf (urd.conf for XIPAR), on the rxctcssfreqs and txctcssfreqs lines put the additional tones separated by commas. These of course need to be standard PL frequencies. Hello Kevin, Not sure if I have something goofed up in the conf files but I can access the repeater with both tones I have set. 88.5 and 100.0. Both tones key up the repeater and transmit out the link. I have waiting until the transmitter drops with the same results. I did try what you mentioned and was able to get the repeater to key up on two different PL tones. However, both tones did key up the link. I matched all parameters in the usbradio.conf file and restarted.
As I remember, you have to wait until the repeater transmitter drops before you can access it with the other tone. Sort of like a community tone panel.

I don't think this would be to hard Tone A at 100.00 only local Tone b at 162.2 allow access to link system It should just be If A then local access If B then Link Access If not A or B disregard COS Simple programming , just some one has to do it , as the software cal already decode and incode PL it should be simple enough , it's not like you are trying to decode 2 pl's at the same time so should take no more CPU time or bandwidth Richard Szajkowski

I could see this useful if Skywarn was activated and they don't want to tie up the link but still be able to talk to them if needed.
