Anyone using Dynamic DHS Service to automatically update your dynamic IP address? If so, what client or script are you using please? Thanks Lu, KA4EPS
I use noip.com as my dyndns provider and noip2 as the local program to update. I am very happy with them. The local program depends on your provider. They usually suggest and/or provide a program to work with their service. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio From: vencl@att.net To: app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org Date: Sun, 24 Nov 2013 23:33:42 -0500 Subject: [App_rpt-users] Dynamic DHS Service Anyone using Dynamic DHS Service to automatically update your dynamic IP address? If so, what client or script are you using please?ThanksLu,KA4EPS _______________________________________________ App_rpt-users mailing list App_rpt-users@ohnosec.org http://ohnosec.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/app_rpt-users
I use DynDNS with no problems. My Linksys routers do the updates to DynDNS. There's an article on Allstarnode.com concerning a Linux native client. http://www.allstarnode.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4 Robert A. Poff Loganville, Pa
Well, that's very cool, but what does the "DHS" have to do with it??? :-) :-) :-) Jim From: wb3awj@comcast.net Date: Mon, 25 Nov 2013 07:37:07 -0500 To: app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org Subject: Re: [App_rpt-users] Dynamic DHS Service I use DynDNS with no problems. Each router I have has different firmware so I can use any DNS provider. 2 of my router use DD-WRT firmware and one uses tomato firmware. Knowing that, I have 3 different DNS. noip-ip.com, it has to be renewed every month but its free. Dyn.com/dns is free only if you have a D-link router and I do, so for the past 2 years I haven't had an e-mail from then concerning expiration. freedns.org is my favorite because it's free too and they don't expire or send the monthly e-mails. It was not easy to set up but once I did, it has been flawless. I found this site helpful because I'm using DD-WRT firmware http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Dynamic_DNS JK From: Lu Vencl <vencl@att.net> To: app_rpt-users@ohnosec.org Sent: Sunday, November 24, 2013 11:33 PM Subject: [App_rpt-users] Dynamic DHS Service Anyone using Dynamic DHS Service to automatically update your dynamic IP address?
