by David Shaw 31 Mar '17

Hello, Today for my birthday I received a new DVThumb. I'm using N4IRS 's DMRGateway. I ran ./mk_dmrlink and got an error. cp: cannot stat ‘/srv/DMRlink/RS129.py’: No such file or directory I edited mk_dmrlink and rem out the line: #cp /srv/DMRlink/RS129.py /opt/dmrlink Is this OK? -- Thanks, David "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Jim Dixon has passed away.
by Steve Zingman 26 Dec '16

26 Dec '16

Below is a message from Steve Rodgers WA6ZFT: It is with deep regret that my long time friend Jim Dixon passed away on 12/16. I've known Jim since we were teenagers, and our interest in electronics engineering was self-reinforcing for both of us. Jim was a bright and caring individual who really loved socializing with others. With regard to Allstar Link, Jim did give me access to the servers, and I have been working to transition control to Steve Zingman N4IRS. He will take over management of Allstar Link. We are doing a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure that Allstar Link continues to be as Jim envisioned it. In the near term, Steve and his team will create a non-profit entity for Allstar Link. Management of Allstar Link is such that it requires a team of individuals all working together to ensure its long term viability. We currently have a transition team in place running the day-to-day operations, node numbers, etc. Final note: At this time donations to Jim's Paypal account should not be sent to his account since we don't have control over it. We will set up something soon to handle incoming donations, and will let everyone know when it is in place. Steve WA6ZFT -- "Duuude!!!"

Anyone building portable nodes?
by Buddy Brannan 17 Dec '16

17 Dec '16

Howdy, Just wondering if anyone's building portable node hardware. Raspberry Pi III or similar, with a URI or RIM basic or such plus low power radio (even Baofeng BF888S or such). I've seen the Micronode thingies, but I don't really need or want a touch screen, ssh works fine for me, and I'm OK with installing and configuring. What I'm definitely not really great with is modifying radios and playing with hot soldering irons in teeny tiny places. Really just need a bunch of hardware put together. Thanks, -- Buddy Brannan, KB5ELV - Erie, PA Phone: 814-860-3194 Mobile: 814-431-0962 Email: buddy(a)brannan.name

Hello Steve, Quick question. Is 2100 still linked to 3167? -- Thanks, David "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.
