If anyone dials into the node via VoIP on either Echolink or Allstar... they will essentially be transmitting from my node radio. I do believe I need to be in control of the node (my station) at all times per FCC rules. Well, obviously if I'm at work and out of range, I can't be monitoring my node for illegal transmissions. I can't be the first one with this question. I think denying all inbound VoIP calls might make this somewhat more safe. I know how to deny inbound Echolink calls via the deny statement. But how do I deny inbound Allstar calls? Do I just make my node private? And how does one do that? Do I just comment out the "register" statement in iax.conf?
Why don't you disable it while your not in range. I use Putty to log in remotely to disable/re-enable it. Eldin, First, the rules are just a bit different for stations in repeater operation. The person making the illegal transmission is responsible for that transmission. Some of the differences state the need of a second means for control of the system and a watchdog timer for unattended operation. Command cop 49 will deny all incoming connections. Both Allstar and Echolink. In rpt.conf inside the functions stanza, assign it to a DTMF code of your liking. For example, "69=COP,49" . Then in the node stanza add "startup_macro=*69". When your restart, the macro will execute and set the node deny incoming connections. No need to do the "deny=" in echolink.conf.
