if you only use single digit strings. Use longer strings and you can have more.

Will app_rpt support an operational node with no hardware FXS ports? Something other nodes could connect to, but there would not actually be a radio on the box. Gary
Gary, This is something we have been discussing . App_rpt requires at least one zap channel to terminate into per node. Allthough this has not been tested yet, one thing you might want to try is putting a X100P FXO card in the hub machine and telling rpt.conf to use the channel on the FXO card. Steve. Good news so far. I have a node up for experimentation purposes (node 2000). Its at a colocation site in Downtown LA (lots of bandwith). It has no Zaptel hardware in it, whatsoever. To accomplish this: Use an /etc/zaptel.conf that has no ports defined modprobe ztdummy then ztcfg (again) For some reason when ztcfg is run automatically by the modprobe, it gives an error. I dunno why but it works nontheless. in the /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf do not define any ports, but do be sure you define a line for pseudo. For the rxchannel in rpt.conf, use Zap/pseudo. do not define a txchannel. The latest version supports all of this without any changes.

My FT897 is not reacting properly to the remote commands. Scan and step sort of work, nothing else. A mode change locks the front panel. I have the CAT Baud rate set to 9600. What am I missing here? What is the "user login" function for? Here is my config. If the authlevel is a 1 or 2 in the node config block, it will prevent the remote base from being used until a password is entered. The default authlevel is 0 (off). We have lots of telco connect usage on our system utilizing the Tel PTT feature to comm over the radio. Occasionally people forget there PTT is active. Is there a way to put an enunciation tone on the Telco RX audio when the PTT is active? Maybe a beep every 20 seconds or such to remind you that the PTT is active? Hi. Sorry for not getting back with anything on this list for a while, but Steve Rodgers WA6ZFT and I were involved in a really bad auto accident. Steve is alive but not in fantastic shape (I dunno what details I have permission to release about him), and I managed to walk away with only broken fingers and hands. Yes I am actually typing to you now with the 3 fingers & 2 thumbs that are available to me currently. Yes g707 works well. there is a magic cable. gary you have ny number. call me.
