Programming help
by John Keeting 03 Apr '20

03 Apr '20

Hello, I'm programming my APX8000 for the P25 channels in the area and would like to know if there is a "go by" to look at for reference? I have a few of the channels programmed, and the ones I can reach from my location appear to work, but haven't been able to raise anyone. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. 73, John Keeting | *K3ETS*

St Pete analog/p25 repeater
by Bryan Fields 04 Feb '20

04 Feb '20

I've moved the analog/p25 repeater back to 444.3750 MHz. I hope this will give a better performance as we're losing about 20w in the filter due to being 50 KHz off frequency. (~2.3 dB) -- Bryan Fields, W9CR Florida Simulcast Group, Inc.

FCC NPRMs pending that will eliminate HamWAN
by Bryan Fields 26 Nov '19

26 Nov '19

There are curently two NPRM's that have overwhelming support of the FCC for eliminating 5.9 and 3.4 GHz bands. > http://www.arrl.org/news/arrl-to-oppose-proposal-to-eliminate-3-3-3-5-ghz-a… https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-360940A1.pdf https://ecfsapi.fcc.gov/file/112142695991/DA-19-1202A1.pdf These are not open for commenting yet, but when they are we need all users here to issue a comment on both. As you may be aware the DSRC users have all but eliminated the use of 5.9 GHz in the Tampa site. These people have proven they are incompetent and we would expect the same sort of user to appear in the valuable 3.4 GHz band. 3.4 GHz is the only non-shared with part 15 amateur band, and we use it exclusively for backhaul on the Tampa Bay HamWAN. There is no other band where we have clean spectrum, and easily accessible data radios. 10 GHz would be great, but there are no commercial companies building product which will work there. If we loose both bands, HamWAN and high-speed data networking is dead. -- Bryan Fields, W9CR Florida Simulcast Group, Inc.

BGP is up on HamWAN
by Bryan Fields 14 Oct '19

14 Oct '19

We now have a BGP session up on HamWAN with our provider. Special thanks to Jerry for setting this up for us. We'll be able to add additional head end interconnection points in the near future, and bring further redundancy to HamWAN in the event of outages with our primary provider. 73's -- Bryan Fields, W9CR Florida Simulcast Group, Inc.

St Pete UHF repeaters are offline
by Bryan Fields 20 Sep '19

20 Sep '19

As of about 1700 today, the St Pete UHF repeaters are offline. This is do some of the work required for the commercial users at the site and we expect to be offline until their work is complete in a week or two. Hamwan is unaffected and should be working well. 73's -- Bryan Fields, W9CR Florida Simulcast Group, Inc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rN9ZiEmcuVs This is a beta test, but it's working with FFMPEG streaming it to youtube. This is a 4k PTZ cam we have access to and I wanted to get it going to youtube. Not guaranteed to work 24x7, but I want to have it going as much as we can. You can't PTZ it from youtube, only the chosen few get to do that :) -- Bryan Fields, W9CR Florida Simulcast Group, Inc.
