So I'm home sick from work, can't do much but sit on the couch. I decided to start loading software. I'm writting DIAL to my microsd card. Do I need to assign it a node number? N1XBM Apparare Scientor Paratus Communicare Allstar Node # 27086, 41540, 41812, 42086

Playback working!
by Michael Hebert 12 Dec '15

12 Dec '15

All, I am happy to report that I have playback working with my DMRlink running in playback mode. As soon as I setup dmrlink.cfg and playback_config.py the Motorola SLR5700 connected to the RPi running playback. The green link light on the front of the repeater turned solid green. I did a test and playback with no problems. Michael KD5DFB

Hello Everyone, I found using tail -f /car/log/dmrlink/dmrlink.log helps to see what's going on. David

Your best bet for a master on the Pi is to listen to 0.0.0.0 That way a external peer will be able to connect on the Ip address of the ethernet interface. A peer running on the Pi trying to connect to that master on 127.0.0.1 will also be able to connect. play_back (parrot) is a example of that kind of peer. DMRlink first questions
by Robert Newberry 12 Dec '15

I have my repeater on a dummy load and the RPI2 and my laptop all on a unmanaged switch for testing. On dmrlink.cfg My thought was to make the RPI2 running dmrlink the master and my repeater as the peer. Is this possible? I am unsure how I would do that. My guess is I would put the IP of the RPI2 in the dmrlink.cfg Steve, had mentioned get my repeater parroting on a tg. So I looked at playback.py I see tg ID for a group call is 12345 on ts2 and private is the same except ts 1 and 2. So if I set my radio up accordingly. I should parrot on those IDs. What other files do I need to edit? N1XBM Apparare Scientor Paratus Communicare Allstar Node # 27086, 41540, 41812, 42086, 42658

Master Node
by David Shaw 11 Dec '15

Hello All, I was thinking could one of us setup a test master so others could connect too? I could do this some time next week after I get one more pi. I could port forward the port to a second lan here at the house and give user access of he/his could read the logs. Any ideas how we could set something like that put? -- Thanks, David

Robert, I'm on my phone so this is short. Read dmrlink.cfg it tells you how to define a peer and or master. I know it is old (ish) but I had not watched it yet. For this list I thought this segment was interesting: Video link: http://arvideonews.com/hrn/HRN_Episode_0226.html Watch the section from 7:54 to 10:34 which deals with the AMBE codec and patent issues. Mike
