Good All, We have a node coming up in Lake Charles, La and we are having issues. So, I am asking for configurations suggestion. First off, the Allstar node is not going to be at the repeater site. It is at a remote site. It is running on GM300 with URI interface. The repeater has a long squelch tail of about 2 second. I have tried to run with USB radio in half duplex mode but the node ends up ping ponging with the repeater in half duplex mode . Is it better to use simpleusb or USBradio for this type of setup?? Should the repeater squelch be reduced or turned off all together. Please offer a copy of either USBradio or simpleusb configuratio file pretty please. Any help would be appreciated. 7 3 de Angelo
If you are using PL on the repeater, they maybe some options for you. If you are not using PL, then you will have to look at options where a shorter squelch tail is used. If you are using incoming PL for the users to key the repeater then it should follow their transmitted signal. If you are looking at the output of the repeater and the repeater is setup to transmit PL then PL will be present whenever the repeater is keyed. You can't use the repeater output detected PL for Allstar. If you are at the repeater you can pickup the PL at the correct point. If you are using a remote link to the repeater then you will have to either modify the repeater so that its output PL follows the input or go to a two PL system where there is one output PL for the repeater and another follows the input. * Angelo, edit rpt.conf to change the hangtime of the repeater. Also, find the [wait_times] stanza, also in rpt.conf and shorten them up, considerably. Let me know if that doesn't get you pointed in the right direction and we'll go from there. -Geoff *
