Registration Problems

Back in early days of ASL there was only one registration server when ASL was smaller and there was no need to turn on dnsmgr in asterisk. (Legacy node owner this pertains to your old Allstarlink nodes that have been running for years.) Recently, because of the growth of ASL over the last few years we have had to add more registration servers to balance the load that was being put on one single server trying to handle more than 3500 nodes all trying to register. Lately, we have been seeing issues with some users registering. I believe these are Legacy nodes owners and are having issues because they do not have dnsmgr enabled for their nodes. See the link on the wiki. <https://wiki.allstarlink.org/wiki/Dnsmgr.conf> https://wiki.allstarlink.org/wiki/Dnsmgr.conf Enabling dnsmgr might help solve your node registration problems. Basically, if you enable dnsmgr, if one of the three registration servers goes down, your node will look for another registration server to register too. There are three servers, SEA, ORD and CQF, so there is a pretty good chance that your node would be successful registering with another server if one is down or not working correctly. 73 Marshall - ke6pcv

Limey Linux - source files

Anyone know where I might be able to find the repos for the source files? ... I still have my first ASL node which used Limey Linux and I loved it. No matter how many times the box lost power, because I pulled the power cord in frustration, or the cat thought the power wire was a fun toy, the box remained reliable - none of this RPi SD card issues. I quit using it several years ago because it developed a problem. I got my hands on the then new RA-35 with the CM-119 IC. Right around that time, every 12-ish hours the node would lock up because of some USB fatal error. Don't remember what it was, or clues to what caused it. So, I'm in the dev stages of a 900MHz repeater, and I'm going to use what is known to be reliable. I'm looking for the source files for Limey Linux to determine if the simpleUSB driver did not like the newer CM-119 and update them. unless! someone smarter than me figured out what issue was, and would like to share their fix.
