Audio not passed when on usbinvert?

I am really confused right now. I am using a URI with some kenwood TK-941 radios for a repeater. I am using De-emphasized audio. Here is what is happening. I am using usbradio. I set the rxctcssoverride to 1 for testing. I turn the squelch off in the radio, and put carrier from to DSP. (Yes, I know, this is the wrong type of audio for DSP). I go to radio tune menu, set the squelch to zero, and I hear the white noise being repeated perfectly. Now, I set the carrier from to USB. When I turn the squelch off on the radio, the red light enables, and the transmitter transmits. However ... There is no white noise being repeated, just a plain carrier. What??? I tried this on the computer as well as the raspberry pi. My audio input is on the left channel. Even when I set the input volume to 999, I still don't hear anything, just a carrier. So I know -Speaker Audio is coming into the computer through the URI -When DSP is enabled, and the squelch is set to zero both on the computer and the radio, audio is repeated -COR is set up because the transmitter will key up when the receiver gets a signal So now I need to figure out what is preventing the audio from rebroadcast when the input is set to usbinvert. 73 Skyler KD0WHB

Garmin GPS18x no longer compatible with RTCM

Hi folks, Wanted to get this out to you before anyone else bought one thinking they would work (since this model is specifically called out in the RTCM docs). When using a GPS with a Micro-node RTCM for voting, you need to find one that has a 5 volt Pulse-per-second output. The Garmin lines that is recommended (GPS 18X, 18X lvc, etc...) NO LONGER do this! This is what I got back from Garmin: Mr. Cizek, I was just told there was a design change with the GPS 18x LVC. The PPS signal voltage is now 3V. This was something we were not told until today. We will be making the changes to the online Technical Specifications to reflect this change. I do apologize for the inconvenience. This was a change we were not informed of. So this line of GPS's will *NOT* work with an RTCM any longer. Talking to Mark at Micro-node, there is a voltage divider in the RTCM dropping the 5 volt to 3.3 volt to be compatible with the CPU. With only 3 volts on the incoming line, there isn't enough making it to the CPU to trigger a state change and you will get "PPS Timeout" errors and be unable to achieve GPS lock. I am not sure what kind of timing skew a level converter would introduce, so it's probably a better bet to just get a GPS that has a 5 volt line (Trimble Thunderbolt or the similar). There may be a possibility of removing or modifying the voltage divider inside as well, but without schematics, and unless you have SMD capable gear, it's unlikely that that is a good solution. Just wanted to let folks know so they don't repeat the brain damage I just went through figuring this out :) 73 James KI0KN

Question regarding echolink setup

I am new to Allstar and am attempting to get the echolink node ID/PSWD combination to work. It works as I can bring up Echolink in sysop mode under the profile for the repeater. I believe I configured it correctly in the setup on the Allstarlink website and in the setup on the local node as well. I am not sure where to look or what else I might need to do to get the echolink aspect up and running, any direction would be great. Thanks, 73, Greg, W2GCM

Crontab with DIAL on RPi 2

We are running our repeater using DIAL on a RPi 2, and asterisk seems to just stop running at times, but Linux is happy. A reboot corrects it for awhile. I've also restarted asterisk. On our ACID system with the Atom computer, we seemed to have the same thing happen, so I used crontab to perform a restart weekly, which seemed to correct the issue until we actually had an identifiable hardware issue, then we installed the Pi. I've attempted to set up a crontab to do either an asterisk stop/start sequence, or a reboot, but neither seem to work, so I'm wondering why? We've also tried to reboot in crontab using the same reboot sequence as we use for rebooting via the radio, using DTMF in rpt.conf; "/sbin/reboot" ; this works from the radio. Also, cop,1 does not seem to restart asterisk in rpt.conf. I'm wondering if these are known issues, or am I doing something incorrectly? Thanks, Bob kk6ecm Sent from iPad

I have a couple of people coming in and linking up while I am testing. Is there a way to forcibly disconnect the link without having to reboot the system. The link commands for COP or disconnecting all do not seem to work. Node 43008 issues

Hello, I just installed the Allstar system on a Raspberry 2 connected to a Baofeng radio via a Advanced Repeater Systems USB AllStar Adapter. I can see the node on AllStar Link WebTranceiver, but when I send DTMF tones to the radio it will not connect or return the time with *81.if I dial the node on a cell phone 763-230-0000 and enter my passwordcode I get a busy signal. I' on AT&T and I think I have the right port open, on the router. Has anyone seen issues like those? Thanks Jim AG4UJ Sent from my iPad

Noob question

I just connected my repeater a Motorola GM500R With a Maxtrac M10 receiver and M120 TX. The jumper on the board is set to B on the RX. When I try to connect to a node I get a node # Connection Failed. Not sure as to what to do , I am not a current Linux fan nor as good with the command line interface as I used to be 20yrs ago working on Linux servers for EDS and AT&T. I made a change on the web portal and then selected download, I saw the following come up on my local node system: Connected to Asterisk 1526 currently running on AllStar (pid = 684) [Jan 23 19:18:34] NOTICE[697]: cryptostub.c:42 stub_ast_key_get: Crypto support not loaded! IP network setup DIAL

OK I had a brain fart. What is the most logical way to change static IP on allstar DIAL. Is there a script that can be called to do the network setup and change settings? Getting over a cold and am rather brainless. The Server/node will be going to a different location to be used but setting up here so it will be plug and play for the other location. Keri KB0YNA
