Another node server having stability issues

Please can someone help me find the answer to make my server / nodes reliable. The computer is a HP 5700 with one gig of ram. it locks up and or sends clicking sounds with key-ups to the rest of the linked system and or stops responding. I have re-installed DIAL cut back to one URI and it ran ok for several hours. when i checked it this morning it was in failure again. Anyone have MPLAB C compiler?

Hello all, It appears as if the link in the " votersystem.pdf " for the MPLAB C Compiler for PIC24 and dsPIC v3.25 in LITE mode points to a page that indicates the download is no longer available. I've done quite a bit of googling for an alternate source, and can find nothing. Does anyone still have a copy they could send my way? I have a couple of voter boards running 1.07 (09/15/2012) and they keep hiccuping, dropping PTT and connection to server whenever transmitting. I decided that I would create another video on how to install allstarlink and set it up with the fancy allmon2 and iaxrpt for windows. I know the video is long and drawn out... But if you think about it their is a ton of steps to setting up and running an allstar node.. I hope you all enjoy and are able to help others with this tutorial after all that's why it was created.. Here is a video on the basics Instructions tutorial listed below.. First you want to download the current version of Dial from allstarlink.org Next you want to either burn that to a cd or usb by your preferred method.. Now you will need to setup your nod from allstarlink.. In order to do this you will need to request a node and create a server in the allstarlink panel. After doing that you will be assigned a node number and then you can begin the process of installation of your dial machine.. Insert CD boot from CD or USB which ever media your prefer then Hit enter on the first selected installation process.. Warning this will remove every thing on that hard drive be sure you have backed up your system prior to doing this.. You will want to ensure that your pc is plugged into the internet because it is a live installation meaning it pulls the installation files from the internet rather than the disk.. After installation is compete most pc shut down.. please remove your installation media and start back up the pc.. After a restart it will boot to a log in screen Username is: root Password is: debian Follow the on screen steps as provided in the video.. Also make sure you pick a strong password.. Now for customized installation of allmon2 and htop unzip and other tools needed.. Unable to download and implement portal config

Hi all, I tried a couple time today to configure my node via the Allstar web portal. Basically all I want to do was change my node radio configuration from a simplex node to a simplex with courtesy tones node. I tried several time and got the following message each time Sat Oct 29 21:24:08 CDT 2016 config: unable to download and implement portal config Any idea what I could be doing wrong or have misconfigured? DIAL and radio-tune-menu

Just got dial up and running with a Pi3. Initial setup looks good and it has registered with the Allstar network. Now I'm trying to use the radio-tune-menu command but all I get is this: root@repeater:/etc/asterisk# radio-tune-menu Error parsing device parameters root@repeater:/etc/asterisk# I've checked that the rpt.conf and the usbradio.conf files are aligned in what the USB device (URI) is called (usb28073): rpt.conf: [28073] ; Change this to your assigned node number rxchannel = radio/usb28073 ; Rx audio/signalling channel usbradio.conf: [general] [usb28073] eeprom = 0 ; EEPROM installed: 0,1 ; 0 = no (default) ; 1 = yes What am I missing??? -Joe KA3NAM

I have retested on a HP DC6000 and it seems reliable so far and the issue is mostly not there. When first starting the computer 2 things happen Most of the URI's show the following message immediately after boot then they stop. Or i can try anything you wish if you have another idea. I am building to to replace a failing RLC DSP 404 and the site will be inaccessible for several months once winter hits thus i am attempting to test for reliability a little more than usual before deploying. odd connectivity problem

Two nodes I normally are connecting to are not in the online list, nor are they in the rpt_extnodes file. The older online node list does show them and a bubble graph showing them connected, as usual. I started to poke around when I saw my usual connection to one of them was not possible. Got no "connection failed" but telemetry was silent, nothing. I can connect to any other nodes though. So the question is, if the software is updating the allstar server, what would make it not show in rpt_extnodes or the master node list with green shading, but does show in the online node list. Remembering back I had static entries for the one I'd normally connect to in rpt.conf, but guessing his ISP changed his address. Anybody? -- George Csahanin Toms River, NJ 08753 http://dyb.com

Hi all, I need to run a node over a cellular data connection and have managed to get hold of a couple of Teltonika RUT105 3G modems: http://www.4gon.co.uk/teltonika-rut105-p-5010.html These devices support OpenVPN and I was wondering if it might be possible to use this to tunnel to one of my other Allstar nodes that has a regular Internet connection with a public IP address (in fact one of the sites has multiple public IP's available). Has anyone ever done anything like this and could give me a few clues as to how I proceed? I'm assuming that the node at the end of the tunnel will need two ethernet ports, one for the connection from the 3G modem to come in on and another with a different public IP for the cellular connected node to be able to use. Does this sound feasible? I'd appreciate any help anyone can give as I'm not at all sure how to go about configuring OpenVPN to do this having never used it before! Many thanks, Matt G4RKY

I used the Google map API (https://developers.google.com/maps/) for IRLP node locations: http://kd3su.info/maps/kd3su.html A while ago I saw a map that showed the IRLP nodes linked up somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.
