Tonight I had a user tell me that one of my nodes wouldn't connect anywhere. Verified, rebooted the server, still nothing. Tried running the rc.updatenodelist script manually and it just sits there. However, after running the following command I do get an update and can now connect to other nodes. /usr/bin/wget -O /var/lib/asterisk/rpt_extnodeshttp://nodes1.allstarlink.org/cgi-bin/nodes.pl When I checked two other nodes they had the same problem and same work-around. I ran that same command for nodes2 and it works. When I run it for nodes3 it times out. Could a problem with nodes3.allstarlink.org be causing the rc.updatenodelist script to choke? And could that have been causing my nodes to not be able to connect to others?

Random Keyup & Hum

Does anyone know what might cause this, (attached audio file) I was having this on my node, using a GE Mastr II with URI and DSP to decode the PL tone 123.0 - my first thought was feedback loop from the TX but it just happens without anyone keying up or an ID occurring. However also considered someone jamming / txing a near dead carrier with a hum on their signal. Tried reboot, and this would happen whether I was connected or not, it also has the courtesy tone, which is the local tone, as if it was a station here (local). Changed the PL lower in freq and it all cleared up. Not sure what could have caused it though? As far as I know nothing has changed at the repeater site, haven't been up there in ~ 2 months since the last change where I raised the antenna, from 10 to 30' and brought it about 15' closer to the repeater. If anyone has a thought other then some station keying up to cause this, jamming etc... what else could happen to do that? 73's Mark KC7DMF

How to delay COS during picket fencing?

Hi, When a mobile is in a weak signal area and picket fences, the audio on the other end of the IP connection is very garbled. Pre-IP / asterisk we would delay the COS drop to cover effects of the picket fence. When a beagle board sees the COS / PL drop.. Is there a way to create a quiet period, i.e. delay, in the IP Audio stream? Does rxsquelchdelay do this? Basically, wait a few MS to avoid multiple COS drops caused by picket fencing. Thanks, N6UG

Duplex / Telemetry / Courtesy Tone Question

Hello All, I'm struggling to configure my simplex node in a particular way. As of right now I have duplex=0 specified for my node in rpt.conf. My goal is to maintain the functionality of duplex=0, but do want a courtesy tone to transmit ONLY when a remotely connected AllStar node unkeys. I do not want the simplex node to ID or transmit a courtesy tone for local transmissions. Has anyone else configured their node in such a way? If so, would you be willing to share your configuration. ctss repeater

our allstar is connected to a repeater that has a tail and go in our interest that this does not listen on the internet activate the repeater tone reception 88.5 and now we have the node with the same tone in the usbradio use the ctssfrom command = dsp think so makes CTSS discriminator own uri have noticed that some users despite having activated tone not pass internet and other users however do not have that problem I think is that the uri as CTSS discriminator is not very effective so I want to use the CTSS discriminator own team with a kenwood v7 but not how to activate it from the setup of allstar -- Enviado desde EA8EE red movil

usbradio setting to delete tail repeater

hello everyone! I tried to configure your rig kenwood V7 and uri dmk connected to our repeater that has a tail using the CTSS tail repeater is not heard using the usbradio setting using carrierfrom = dsp works but the problem that some users using the same CTSS open the rx access and another users not get to be heard through the dsp uri any option to use the rx CTSS V7 to delete tail repeater instead of dsp uri ?

Are the O'l Digium FXS or FXO pci cards Supported?

Or will they work? I remember reading they worked on old versions of apt_rpt I also figure they may be a better option than USB but relatively rare/expensive.
