1. Have you tried inserting the ringing app in extensions.conf for the SIP extension? The SIP extension may not be indicating ringing to the channel used by app_rpt for the autopatch. 2. There is not be enough information here to suggest a solution. Are the repeater and simplex nodes on the same machine? Are they both USB fobs? What version of app_rpt is being run on both nodes? When in transceive, what does the CLI command rpt stats XXXX print when XXXX is the node number of the simplex node on the machine running the simplex node? Roger F. [App_rpt] The wiring of the URI to a FT857D

Hello to the group, I would like to wire the URI up to my Yaesu FT857D and would like to here any comments concerning the wiring diagram posted on the FT897. Could one use the wiring diagram replacing the PCI radio interface points for the URI points? Will / W4WWM

Hi everyone. I have a couple of issues I am trying to resolve. 1. When I make an autopatch from the repeater to an existing SIP extension on the system the repeater will not emit a ring sound. Everything else in the Patch works great both directions except no ringing when I dial out from the repeater. 2. When I link from the repeater to the simplex radio (transceive) the repeater stays in transmit mode. This is not a big issue. because when I link in (in monitor), the repeater seems to work ok. Again, I bow to the OGWO's (Oh Great Wise Ones) of the Asterisk and APP-RPT Kingdom! Best Regards, Roger F. Jordan W4RFJ

Does anyone have an idea as to how to get the reverse patch to give a caller id announcement on the radio when the radio is being notified of the parked call?? Just an idea I would like to get working. VR Roger W4RFJ

After looking at the info at http://app-rpt.qrvc.com/ it looks like there are 2 ways to go for usb radio interfacing. What is the difference between the modified usb sound fob and the dmk engineering interface? Eric AF6EP

[App_rpt] distro preference?

I'm putting app_rpt back up from scratch. Is there a prefered distro to run it on? I'm partial to debian because of it's package management and the ability to not have to install masses of unneeded additional bloat but I've also used RedHat derivitives such as OpenSuse, whitebox, centos, and fedora, along with Slackware, and linux from scratch. If I'm going to be compiling everything from source though rather than installing packages which seems to be the case with app_rpt then what's the best choice? Thanks, Eric AF6EP

I finally figured out that the PTT wire somehow had gotten moved and was just barely touching pin 14, not sure how this affected the receive tuning, but since I fixed that it worked fine. However, since I decided to re-solder the wire so that it was in a better position, I broke the pin off the chip. So as soon as I order another usb adapter or two, I'll be up and running. [App_rpt] USB interface reliability

Hello all, I am building up a repeater to put on the air in Seattle as our first All Star node. I have the single-radio analog board which connects to my existing FXS card already but I don't want to put that up on top of a building in the long run. I'm curious if the cheap USB audio adapters (such as the one that computergeeks sells for something like $8) are a good long-term, reliable solution. I'm interested to hear from others running repeaters in good repeater sites that are using the USB ports, particularly those with repeaters in commercial or high-density sites where strong RF fields from other transmitters are common. The 4-port PCI card is certainly an option but given the price difference I would really like to make an attempt at the USB interface first but would like some advice of others on the stability/reliability of it. It won't be suitable for me if it's at all problematic as visiting this repeater site is not something I can do regularly. Thanks Mark Hagler
