Anyone using MDC-1200 on their node? restart a single updated file?

More of a linux question- Isn't there a way I can restart just a single file I updated without restarting asterisk? For instance if I updated rpt.conf or usbradio.conf, can I just restart that file somehow? Thanks

adjusting squelch tail time ??

If possible, Is there a way one can adjust the squelch tail time? (The time from when a person unkeys the mic to the courtesy tone). I got the hang time adjusted where I want it but having trouble getting the squelch tail time down. Thanks

Problem with node connections

Hi, Recently, one of my nodes has started playing up for no apparent reason! All of a sudden, when an incoming connection comes along, Asterisk quits and gives the following message: channel.c:1258 ast_channel_free: PBX may not have been terminated properly on 'IAX2xx.xx.xx.xx Outgoing calls to the same node seem fine but incoming still causes this problem! Can anyone point me in the right direction please as a Google search didnt turn up any helpful answers! Many thanks, Matt G4RKY

500 server error getting nodes rc.updatenodelist

Hello Chuck, I have had great luck with the parallel port under app_rpt. First thing to try is: (Make sure Asterisk is controlling the parallel port!) # lsof /dev/parport0 COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME asterisk 25664 root 24u CHR 99,0 1010 /dev/parport0 Next, make sure parallel port pins 18-25 are grounded. Some ports are quite picky about this. Parallel printer port output pins?

I am trying to use the parallel printer port output pins on an Intel ATOM D510MO mother board. I have included below my usbradio.conf file. For testing there is a board with LED's attached to the port and on POST it displays various patterns then nothing until fully booted when it shows only pin 4 active. I have tried this with the pport commented out and with the pbase commented out and the same result. I have tried each of the options available in the BIOS setup for the parallel port and same result. The only lines found in the log files that seem to relate to the parport are the following... copying files between asterisk boxes under program control

Can some guru help me out with a command line instruction that will copy a file from one box to another, in a standard ACID installation? The boxes are behind a common router and have different port numbers for SSH (of course). If any config files changes are required, please show what is needed. Secondly If possible, is there a way to direct the output of this transfer to "stdin" so that it can go directly into another program? Thanks Ken

I'll second Jon's advice... Another possibility not yet mentioned is to operate a private Proxy server at another location, and configure your second box to use the proxy for Echolink... I did just that back in about 2006 , although not using App-rpt.. It was all we could do at the time, so it was 100% better than nothing.. However, that brings you up to 3 PCs to operate 2 nodes... Lastly, you could try what I'm doing here.. At my QTH, I operate several Allstar nodes, and my solution was to connect the Echolink node to a hub node (2210). Through experimention, I found that outbound Echolink calls seem to work fine from any node, even when the RF nodes are not connected to the hub node. I'm not sure if that feature was ever planned, but it seems to work! I normally do not connect the RF nodes to the hub node. Nodes 2210-2213 are all running on a single P3/866 MHZ PC. If I am expecting an inbound Echolink call (almost never), we can connect any or all of the RF nodes to the hub node. 73 for now.
