How to use DCS with DSP in Asterisk

I would like to know if there is a way to use DCS (DPL) instead of CTCSS?? I am using a URI and need to be able to use DSP in Asterisk to encode and decode DCS. Is there a way to do so? if so what is the format in usbradio.conf

TOT Issue

I am having an issue with time out timers and 2 of my nodes.. I have a simplex node at site A and a full duplex repeater at site B. The simplex node is remoted to a VHF repeater which then is connected the UHF repeater at site B... Everything works fine expect during some of the nets... The long hang time on the VHF repeater causes a TOT message out the UHF at site B... Site B comes up and says Node Time Out and says the repeater B id number... If i kerkunk the UHF repeater it resets and picks right back up even though the carrier hasn't dropped from the VHF repeater... I have tried. remote_timeout=0 But that doesn't help... HP t5720 Thin Client / AllStar config recommendations for audio problems.

Does anyone have any configuration hints to get an HP T5720 (1GHz processor/ 1GB Ram/ 8GB HD) with a URI to work with AllStar? I setup a node but I am having some issues. It seems that the machine is just not fast enough or I have too many services running. The audio sounds very bad once and a while. If I send a command for Say Time, it will sometimes come back sounding very bad. Then if I do it again, it sounds ok. Hard to describe how it sounds, my best guess would be that it is lacking resources. Also, I am noticing that during one of the nets today, the system was not passing audio in either direction. Then it started working. Strange problem. I know internet connection is good and tried it at two different sites/ISPs. Are there things I can check, enable, disable or otherwise? Since there is no real Hard Drive in the system, it is using a DOM, is there anything I need to set different? I am using ACID. thanx -- boB - W5EVH

Hi Bob: Jon, VA3RQ, has just reminded me that on the HP's we use chan_simple_usb. The HP's do not have the 'HP' to handle the dsp processing used by chan_usb. R. Question on experimental IRLP connections (not trying to bring up stnXXXX connections)

I am wondering if connections can be enabled to an allstar node configured as an Experimental IRLP station? I think I have seen this done, I know this is acceptable to IRLP as it is inbound only, but I haven't found any info on how to configure it. I would like to configure exp0049 on one of my allstar nodes. Experimental is inbound only, not able to make calls out. Is this something that can be done and is found acceptable? Mike Kb8zgl

Nasa Select via music on hold?

It seems there are ways to bring nasa select into allstar, one seems to be via music on hold. Anyone have a configuration of doing this? Or specifically how to bring in the audio from the Mars landing tonight into allstar (hmm, means I need to turn off my timeout timers too.. must be a cop for that I would suppose?) Alan

Saving node configuration to allstarlink.org

I have saved our custom configuration doing i think it was a savenode.sh It told me verifiying and then said something saved to register.allstarlink.org. The 24 dollar question is.. LEts say the computer crashes.. I rebuild it and now i want to down load the custom config i saved at register.allstarlink.org. How would i do that.? I know i can't do a portal config as that would just have the basic settings. Anyone run into this?
