Hello All, Could someone lease help. How do you turn off or turn the courtesy tones down. Thought I had it... worked for awhile, then all of a sudden it changed IP addresses on me again (sigh!) Any ideas would be appreciated. custom connect messages

I have one, and installed it in /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/rpt/nodenames, but I had found a bunch o nodes already in there.How did they get there? does the software update, and then down load/up load new files? and will my upload the file to all other nodes so they here it aswell?, or is that another email all togather? Connection is rock-solid and I've rebooted dozens of times (and I'm familiar with all the usual pitfalls on the local end (node's been up for several years). I'm 95% certain this is further down the line and I've spoken to at least 3 other users who are experiencing the same behavior (including, as I mentioned, inexplicable disconnects out of the blue) -Bob KK6RQ #27268 ps. As of 20 min ago, it started working (nothing in the router log)

Edited /etc/network/interfaces ADDED the following at the end of the file: hwaddress ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx After rebooting, the "permanent" MAC address is on the card, so it now acts as a hardware MAC on bootup. Saved the SD card image as my new baseline backup for Pickle should I mess something up :-) Now I can set a static address in my router for the Beagleboard-xM. Spontaneous disconnects, disappearing nodes...

I expect this has probably come up before (I've heard others discussing it) but does anyone know anything about nodes appearing and disappearing off the active list? One day everything's fine and I can connect, etc.; the next I've disappeared off the list and can't connect to anything; other days I can connect to *some* nodes but not others. Nothing has changed on my end this entire time, btw. I've heard discussion referring to problems with "Directory Services" on the backend, but that's outside my wheelhouse. Hope somebody has some idea what might be happening. Been going on for a couple of months or so now. Thanks. -Bob KK6RQ Node #27268
