The voter channel driver is broke in svn, but it's working in the main version. I've got it going now, and it's seeing my quad PCI card. w00t. root@KB9MCI:/etc/asterisk# ztscan [1] active=yes alarms=OK description=Board 1 name=PCIRADIO/0 manufacturer= devicetype= location= basechan=1 totchans=4 irq=0 type=analog port=1,none port=2,none port=3,none port=4,none now to find the audio setup docs for the quadpci card since my links for the qrvc.com site are not working :( Thanks, -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice 727-214-2508 - Fax http://bryanfields.net

I've gone to Debian 6.0 now with kernel 2.6.32-5-amd64 I'm getting the following error compiling from svn and the main disto package: CC [M] /root/trunk/zaptel/kernel/wctdm24xxp/GpakCust.o In file included from /root/trunk/zaptel/kernel/wctdm24xxp/GpakCust.c:45: /root/trunk/zaptel/kernel/wctdm24xxp/wctdm24xxp.h:154: error: field ‘work’ has incomplete type /root/trunk/zaptel/kernel/wctdm24xxp/GpakCust.c: In function ‘gpakLockAccess’: /root/trunk/zaptel/kernel/wctdm24xxp/GpakCust.c:410: warning: ignoring return value of ‘down_interruptible’, declared with attribute warn_unused_result make[6]: *** [/root/trunk/zaptel/kernel/wctdm24xxp/GpakCust.o] Error 1 make[5]: *** [/root/trunk/zaptel/kernel/wctdm24xxp] Error 2 make[4]: *** [_module_/root/trunk/zaptel/kernel] Error 2 make[3]: *** [sub-make] Error 2 make[2]: *** [all] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-5-amd64' make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/trunk/zaptel' make: *** [all] Error 2 make: Leaving directory `/root/trunk/zaptel' Looks like 'work' is not properly defined in wctdm24xxp.h, but I could be wrong. Any ideas? Thank you, -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice 727-214-2508 - Fax http://bryanfields.net

Allstarlink.org site problems
by Doug Crompton 15 Dec '13

The allstarlink.org site is screwed up tonight. I was helping a friend and he could not get back to his server/node entries. Then I went in to my page and the same thing, no server and no node icons. Then when I went to account profile it had the sysop block at the bottom unchecked. I tried checking it but then no submit button. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio

I had seen that, but from what I can see the main Dahdi/asterisk branch is not supporting app_rpt anymore due to it being forked, unless I'm mistaken. I have a couple quad port cards I was going to fire up for testing, at least until the new version of the thin-client board was ready. Thanks for the reply, I'll move to oldstable (6.0) then. I was going to give the SVN version a try as there were some comments about it working there. My concern is when Debian drops another stable release, Squeeze will be unsupported then. I was actually searching the list, and think I might have the old archives around (or my business partner does) when we hosted it on lists.illiana.net. I even forgot about hosting this till I was looking through my old emails. Do you know if the install script I referenced will work on Squeeze? Debian wheezy (7) install?
by Bryan Fields 15 Dec '13

Greetings all, it's literally been 7-8 years since I've been building repeaters with app_rpt, and the project has certainly come a long way. At the time i last had it going on Debian with a quad PCI card. I've found some older documentation on compiling it from source on debian now that it's a fork of the main asterisk project. http://ohnosec.org/pipermail/app_rpt-users/2011-February/002266.html This link has a script which I've taken a look at, and suspect my issues compiling zaptel/asterisk are kernel 3.2 related. I had to modify zaptel/kernel/zconfig.h to #include <generated/autoconf.h> in the headers Now I'm seeing the following error about what looks like an initialization of an ioctl variable. make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-3.2.0-4-amd64' CC [M] /usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel/zaptel-base.o /usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel/zaptel-base.c: In function ‘zt_rbs_sethook’: /usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel/zaptel-base.c:2160:2: warning: suggest parentheses around operand of ‘!’ or change ‘&’ to ‘&&’ or ‘!’ to ‘~’ [-Wparentheses] /usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel/zaptel-base.c: At top level: /usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel/zaptel-base.c:7650:2: error: unknown field ‘ioctl’ specified in initializer /usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel/zaptel-base.c:7650:2: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type [enabled by default] /usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel/zaptel-base.c:7650:2: warning: (near initialization for ‘zt_fops.fsync’) [enabled by default] make[5]: *** [/usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel/zaptel-base.o] Error 1 make[4]: *** [_module_/usr/src/astsrc/zaptel/kernel] Error 2 make[3]: *** [sub-make] Error 2 make[2]: *** [all] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-3.2.0-4-amd64' make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/astsrc/zaptel' make: *** [all] Error 2 As I'm not a kernel programer, any idea what this might mean? Anyone else do this, and maybe I missed it in the archives? Thanks, -- Bryan Fields 727-409-1194 - Voice 727-214-2508 - Fax http://bryanfields.net

Once the new DNS entry for this propagates through the "system" (whatever *that* is :-) ), and the "dust" settles, the nodes3.allstarlink.org server should be available for use. It is currently up and running now. Jim WB6NIL

In the back of my head I seem to recall that there was a setting you need change in one of the files as well but I just don't recall. So I the time is 12:30 midnight it will say 6:30 am . I also was shown how to use the crontab and that works just fine . So why does the time say its 6 hour later.
