2 linked repeaters on same computer with Separate Autopatches?
by Bradley Haney 23 Dec '13

23 Dec '13

Any way to make the above work? Would like to have 2 repeaters controlled by 1 computer have 2 separate auto patches. So when repeater A does a *6 it only brings up the auto patch on Repeater A .. and Repeater B the same way.. Thoughts? Bradley kc9gqr/k9wra 28079 and 28295

Well - this is a long shot, but is it possible you have control state "noice" turned on? (No Incoming Connections Enable) http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/166 GL Ken

RTCM use in Off-line/fail-over mode
by 41.2 Jim 23 Dec '13

I understand that when the RTCM goes into fail-over / off-line mode and it becomes a simple repeater, and that all the local repeater audio delay goes away(confirmed), Is their a way to use the RTCM in this mode and not be "off-line" ? So we have the system behave normally (not off-line) but with no local repeater audio delay?(easier to duplex with no delay) I have been looking through the archives to find the thread as I was advised that this modification can / has been be done and it's in the archives somewhere, I just cant find it Or have I been miss informed? Fired off my modest support to the Allstar link. At this time of the holiday season...if you haven't...why haven't you? Surely there's a few ducats left...think of how much it means to have a great system like this, software improvements, and all the background processing and support equipment that needs be in place. It's not free. We all run repeaters. We know how much it costs. But, in the end, Allstar is free to us to use, whine about, brag about...so...throw some in the kettle so 1) Jim can help keep the lights on, and 2) just to show some appreciation. Just think...for what a new Baofeng HT costs...you can make a difference. I'm in. You? Bryan WB0YLE Allstar 27294 27295 27673 27710 27774 28254 28868 etc. Morrisville PA

EchoLink issue
by wade 22 Dec '13

Hello all, I recently helped a friend here in town to setup his first AllStar node. After getting everything up and running including the echolink part the next day it stopped allowing incoming connections. After doing some investigation mine has also stopped allowing incoming connections. Both of ours can connect out from our nodes but no one can connect in. On my node it comeback with a simple time out message, on his node it comes back with unauthorized. Has anyone had this issue before and if so what was the fix? Our routers have all the appropriate port forwarding settings in them and have since the echolink on windows days. This is just a very strange occurrence to me that both of us have this problem and get two different messages back to other users. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Wade KC0MLT AllStar node 28757 Echolink node number 223846

I just donated. I am not saying this to toot my own horn, but to encourage others to donate. Allstar is run at a loss, an server hosting ain't cheap. If everyone here for goes their Starbucks today and gave just 5 dollars it would make a huge difference. Don't be cheap hams, give some to a worthy cause. AllstarLink Financial Support
by Marshall Oldham 22 Dec '13

22 Dec '13

Greetings, I am reposting this message as I know some folks may not have caught this original message early in the month. The donations so far have been rather underwhelming and will not even begin to cover the associated cost for running the various servers which support Allstarlink. If you can spare the funds please help out. You can donate by using the following URL. https://allstarlink.org/ At the top of the webpage just slightly down there is a PayPal donate button 73 Marshall - ke6pcv From: Marshall Oldham [mailto:ke6pcv@cal-net.org] Sent: Wednesday, December 04, 2013 1:16 PM To: 'app_rpt-users(a)ohnosec.org' Subject: AllstarLink Support Greetings fellow Allstarlink members, Since this subject kind of came up regarding one of the 4 allstarlink.org registration servers being down I thought it would be a good time to remind everyone that all of this technology we enjoy as Allstarlink node owners does not just happen without cost. As John pointed out in his previous email there are over 3000 Allstarlink nodes now registered. This is certainly a milestone accomplishment and a testament to Jims dedication to this project. Once again I am reposting this email which is very similar to last year with the hopes that we as the amateur community can step forward and support our hobby, mainly the app_rpt and Allstarlink.org technology that we all enjoy today. As many of you that are new to app_rpt you might NOT know. The creator of app_rpt and the Allstarlink network has never charged or asked for financial support to keep the system going for the use in amateur radio. He has never charged users money to be a part of app_rpt or for use of the network, nor has he ever made any profit off of specific hardware sales for the Allstarlink network. Through the years he has put in a great deal of time and dedication along with his exceptional talents to make app_rpt and the Allstarlink network the great VOIP technology that it has become today. No other VOIP technology in the amateur radio community can even compare to the technology, features and capability that is offered for free to anyone wishing to setup a node. Another understated fact is that there are monthly costs associated with keeping things running smoothly for the system. These costs are for server collocation, domain certifications and so on, amounting to roughly $200 per month. Jim has been paying these monthly fees from donations, but mostly out of his own pocket. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all pitch in and help him to at the least cover these monthly costs for this coming year? I am proposing that we all donate to this cause via PayPal at the following URL. https://allstarlink.org/ At the top of this webpage just slightly down there is a PayPal donate button. In the spirit and season of giving, lets all try and help out with the financial side, so we can continue to use and enjoy this great technology that we have all come to know and love! I would also like to thank Jim, WB6NIL for all the many hours of work and support that he and others have donated to this hobby so that the amateur community at large can benefit and enjoy the use of his technology on a daily basis for free. 73 Marshall - ke6pcv Node 2065, 2066, 29147, 29148, 29149, 29947, 29948, 29949
