Long Squelch tail problem
by Bill Hurlock 06 Nov '13

06 Nov '13

I had to go back to my URI interface and my FT-736R. I have it set up to do tone encode and decode using the URI. All the encode and decode are working however when I unkey there is a squelch tail that lasts about 1 to 2 seconds. I'm allowing the URI to determine COR thru DSP. The connections are setup for raw audio both ways with the node supplying the pre and de emphasis. I have played with the settings but nothing changes the problem. It isn't a consistent duration of tail. I know it is in tone decode mode because if I turn tone off on the portable I can't open the squelch thru the node. Anyone have any ideas...... Understanding incoming DTMF path
by Doug Crompton 05 Nov '13

05 Nov '13

I am almost there but not quite. I have simpleusb working, levels set. Commands like *80 *81, etc work. But I can't seem to connect to anything. If I go into asterisk shouldn't I be able to trace the call progress? I see nothing but digits entered and then a hangup. Help me to understand the path of incoming radio DTMF. SimpleUSB picks it up as defined in rpt.conf. In rtp.conf the node is defined - [27225] ; Change this to your assigned node number ;rxchannel=Radio/usb27225 rxchannel = SimpleUSB/usb duplex=1 context = radio etc....... Then in iax.conf there is the radio stanza ; Incoming radio connections [radio] type=user disallow=all allow=g726aal2 allow=gsm codecpriority=host context=radio-secure transfer=no Then in extensions.conf [radio-secure] exten => 27225,1,rpt,27225 Where does it get passed to any number processing? I have made only my node data and minor changes to these files. I did install an iaxrpt stanza in iax and extensions.conf and I can connected iaxrpt from my windows computer to the radio with audio both ways. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio

Motorola GM300 Transmitter PTT Issue With APP_RPT & DMK URI
by Andrew Sylthe 05 Nov '13

05 Nov '13

Hello app_rpt users, I'm new to using app_rpt, and so far it looks like a great solution for a repeater controller. I'm excited to get my system up and running, and linked into the Allstar Link Network. I downloaded ACID from https://allstarlink.org/, and installed the distro quite painlessly. I have the system setup to download my Asterisk configuration files automatically from AllStar Link. I purchased a URI from DMK, and made my own custom cable following the example found here http://ohnosec.org/drupal/node/138 for a pair of Motorola GM300 8 channel radios. I decided to go with the "Processed audio" configuration, and do have JU551 in position 'B' on the receive radio (and transmit radio for that matter). I'm sending COR from the radio to the URI. I wasn't able to run 'radio tune rxnoise' from within Asterisk. I'm assuming that may not work because I'm using processed audio, not flat. I found another post on this mailing list from some time ago indicating that to be true, but correct me if I'm wrong. Here is the problem that I'm having: The transmit radio becomes keyed as soon as Asterisk starts. I'm not sure why the URI / app_rpt is setting PTT to high when the receive radio isn't receiving a signal. The receive radio is setup to decode PL, and I've jumpered the mic hangup to ground (so the radio isn't stuck in monitor mode). The transmit radio will eventually hit its TOT, and unkey. I've spent a good amount of time scouring the internet for a solution to the problem before starting this email thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope that someone else has had this same problem, and that there is an easy fix. If not, I'm happy to share any and all additional information necessary for a solution to the problem. Thank you for your time in advance! -- Andy

I paid for the sip but...

I paid for the sip and when I attempt an autopatch, it comes up with a dial tone and after I dial the phone number, I get a busy type signal and then I can only disconnect. I may have missed a configuration somewhere...? DMK URI questions
by Doug Crompton 04 Nov '13

04 Nov '13

About a week ago I asked about DMK URI connections to an Alinco radio and I got several responses. I do have a few more questions regarding that. The Alinco has both flat and pre/de-emphasized audio available on its data connector as 1200 baud and 9600 baud connections. I assume I would use the 1200 baud connections along with COS and PTT for a simple USB interface and the 9600 baud connections along with just the PTT for a DSP interface? Do I use the (Alinco 9600 baud) audio to the TX also? Does the DSP pre-emphasize audio or is the processing just on the receive side? Why would I want to use one over the other (DSP vs simple USB)? Which is preferred and/or works better? I am thinking there might be some differing opinions here! The DMK URI has both mic_DC and mic_AC inputs. Does this refer to frequency response or just that one has DC blocking? If you are using flat response (DSP) would the audio in (from the receiver) connections at the URI end matter? The DMK URI has both COS and CTSS inputs. Why would you use one over the other? When using DSP I assume neither is needed? All of the questions above assume I am using the Acid release on a faster processor. 73 Doug WA3DSP http://www.crompton.com/hamradio

startup_macro=
by Brian Burton 03 Nov '13

03 Nov '13

This does not have to be a macro. Any function from the function stanzas can be entered into the startup_macro. The # is not necessary. # is used for remote control or autopatch. -- Brian KB3ORS Trustee W3WAN WAN-RS Tech Support
