Beginner Help - Echolink and Allstar

I am a beginner to allstar. I have just setup echolink on my Allstar node hub. It is showing up on echolink.org. Two things I need help with... How do you make a call out to a echolink node from the Allstar node? Trying the standard dtmf prefix plus the echolink node did not work. I used the echolink app on my iphone to test. It says Welcome To All Star Node 28980, Echolink Node W9JSL-L, so it looks like it is connecting properly. The problem is that on the app its in receive mode and no option to transmit. Is there something in echolink.conf that needs to be configured to allow the echo iphone app to transmit?

I use the capacitor it good design practice to isolates the circuits although it will not strip the pl or dpl. If I want to strip pl or dpl, use a Communication Specialists Board. You can try removes their audio cap and add jumpers. "Just kidding". Another consideration, take a look at, pin 16, connector P904, on the IF/Audio Squelch Board; RX PA. The audio is clean and de-emphasized. I need help, I am using a Mastr II and a URI. I want to use the vol/sql hi for my discriminator audio. I was going to use a resistor divider to pad down the audio. Has anyone ever done this? Could you explain it in more detail to me. I've read you take the two resistors and put them in series. I would tap my URI in the middle where those two resistors meet. Need to switch a controler with 2 node from a simple pc to a real server hardware platform ( 2 power supply, hot swap raid (mirror) scsi hard disk, 1U 19 inch rack space, 8 gig ram, 2.0ghz dual core xeon cpu ) When it’s free why not use it! beside the /etc/asterisk/ folder are there any other file I need to back up to the new controler? Will stick with Acid...

Is there a 'dow' (day of week) setting that would allow Allison, in conjunction with the time, to say what Day of the week it is? I've edited chrontab to have an hourly chime that spits out the local time. Mondays are hard... I need help ;-) Ultimately, I'd like to be able to hear; Today is Monday, October 28. Good morning, the time is 11 o'clock, AM. If there were a speech engine that could take text and convert it to speech, then I suppose a string with the variables would be generated, but that's not -really- the direction I wanted to do. App_rpt audio recording ( archive ) bug

Hi, Somewhere between version 0.303 and version 0.320 of app_rpt the achivedir audio recording got broken and now only works for traffic coming in from the internet and not coming in from the radio - a silent file which includes any courtesy tones is recorded instead. I updated Asterisk on one of my nodes over the weekend and now this feature is broken - does anyone know of a way I can install version 0.303 on this node to fix the problem? I tried to use viewvc to seek out the version I need but the system there seems to use different version numbers ( 1.493 etc ). Any help greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Matt G4RKY

URI to Alinco cable schematic

Does anyone have a link for a URI to Alinco connection schematic (DB25-DB9) or for that matter to other radios also. There seems to be a big market for $50+ pre-made cables that use less than $10 in parts for those that don't know how to use a soldering iron. I just updated the sources (files.tar.gz) associated with ACID uploads, so, as of this moment, the files obtained with a new ACID installation are precisely the same as the sources in SVN. If anyone has any problems, please let me know. Jim WB6NIL

Single RTCM with no GPS

I am trying to get a Single RTCM with no GPS to work in simple mode. Does there need to be a gps for a timing source even if I am not using the voting function at all?
